X live The eagerly-anticipated Vampire Survivors Ode to Castlevania DLC is now available

  • Vampire Survivors is finally paying homage to one of its biggest influences
  • The Ode to Castlevania DLC is live (or rolling out) right now
  • It features a huge variety of weapons, characters, music, and enemies from the hit Castlevania series

It’s Halloween, and fittingly enough it’s also time for a new DLC in Poncle’s hit bullet-heaven Vampire Survivors. But this isn’t just any expansion, as they’re finally paying homage to one of their biggest influences in a suitably grandiose way. Yes, the Ode to Castlevania DLC is now live on all platforms, featuring a huge swathe of content inspired by Konami’s vampire-slaying series.

It’s no secret that Vampire Survivors references Castlevania quite frequently throughout. Whether that’s the Belpaese family and their duty of hunting down creatures of the night, musical stings, enemies and the eponymous mysteriously well-preserved, HP-restoring meals you can find, there’s always been a vein of irreverent affection for their side-scrolling predecessor.

So it’s fitting then that Vampire Survivors has given its lavish DLC treatment to the Castlevania series proper. Dozens of enemies, iconic characters like Simon Belmont and Alucard, weapons, music and beyond are all set to debut as part of this newest expansion. You can grab Ode to Castlevania now in Vampire Survivors for iOS, Android, PC and console!

Goddamn Draculas

Also, yes, Poncle may have messed up a bit here. Why? Because judging by Dracula’s appearance in the trailer, this game finally does have actual vampires! Although knowing the developer I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a clone, or cosplayer, or something to keep that joke going.

And while we may need to update it pretty soon, why not check out our list of the best Vampire Survivors characters ranked to see where the roster thus far stacks up?
