Fans of Generation One Pokémon and players of the newly-released TCG Pocket are in luck! That’s because one of the first major promotional events is taking place right now. The Lapras EX Drop event that’s now underway offers a way to grab a guaranteed copy of this venerable Pokémon.
How? Simply by playing through solo battles, that’s how. Duking it out in limited-time bouts against the computer will eventually reward you with the Promo Pack A Series Vol. 1, which features not only Lapras but also Pikachu, Butterfree, Clefairy and Mankey as possible additional cards.
And before you ask, yes you can then use these cards in regular battles against other players. The event runs from today (the 5th) until the 18th of November, so you don’t have all that long to jump in and get your battles in. I suppose that’s one benefit of a digital CCG over the traditional physical format, the fact that you don’t need to dig through eBay listings or debate prices with someone at your local store when you can so reliably pick up specific cards from promotional events. Of course, for some that may be part of the fun, but for others they’ll welcome an easier, faster way to get it done.
