X live Play Together’s Halloween update is here, bringing spooky surprises to Kaia Island

  • Haegin’s Play Together is seeing the introduction of its new Halloween-themed event
  • Ghosts have infested Kaia island, and it’s up to the players to bust- ahem, capture them
  • Get Halloween Candy as a reward, to exchange for new cosmetics and furniture

With Halloween right around the corner, the latest game to celebrate the spooky season is none other than Haegin’s cosy social-gaming hub, Play Together. This year, Kaia Island is seeing an infestation of ghosts, with players being called upon to bust- ahem, we mean ‘capture’ them in Operation: Ghostsweep

In return, you’ll be rewarded with Halloween Candy, which can be exchanged for unique, limited-time cosmetic items and furniture to decorate your home with. Not only that, but a new set of tasks called the Halloween Witch’s Secret Recipe sees you tasked with catching special fish and insects to complete the recipe, with costumes and more as special rewards.

And even that’s not all! Aside from a Halloween Cosplay Photo Contest with even more rewards, players can also take on a variety of new tasks for the season. You can also in-game currency and gems, as well as special rewards depending on how well you did in Operation Ghostsweep. If you want to see what else Kaia island has been infested by, why not check out the previous scare-themed event, Summer of Horror?

Before you ask, yes there’s also attendance bonuses. The Pumpkin Frenzy Attendance event has plenty of cosmetics and in-game rewards for players to unlock simply by logging in. I’m not sure of the core appeal of playing a multiplayer game purely based around more casual interactions and missions, but if you’re looking for something a little more laid-back this season then Play Together’s Halloween update seems sure to provide.
