Regular readers of Pocket Gamer will be aware that we released a brand new website called PocketGamer.fun. It’s a site we’ve made in collaboration with domain specialists Radix, intending to help you find your next favourite game quickly.
So, if you’re looking for distilled recommendations, head over to the site, be greeted with dozens of great games and download any that take your fancy. Alternatively, if you’re happy with a little more reading, we’ll regularly post articles like this one to update you on what we’ve posted on the site in the last week or so.
The joys and frustrations of MOBAs
Usually, I spend these paragraphs praising the particular subject it covers but there’s a slight tweak to that this time around. If you’re familiar with MOBAs, you probably already know where this is going. It’s a genre that brings the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. When your team clicks and everyone does their job, it’s the best form of multiplayer that exists in gaming. But when someone isn’t very good or starts trolling, it becomes the most frustrating waste of time. So, rather than a hearty recommendation on PocketGamer.fun, I bring you a fair warning. In MOBAs, there are good and bad times, with the former ultimately outweighing the latter if you can stomach some infuriating periods.
Getting your yearly horror fix
Halloween might be over, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy some spookiness for the rest of the year. Horror is forever, not just for October 31st. I believe that’s the saying, right? Last year, we also celebrated the spooky season on PocketGamer.fun, so it felt only right to do it again. This time around, we’ve got a good mix of platformers, point-and-click adventures and a first-person shooter. Kind of.
Game of the Week
Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge
Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge was born from a thread on Reddit, something that would seem incredibly strange not so long ago. But inspiration can strike creative folks at any time, even if that’s mindlessly perusing the internet, and, in this case, it’s led to something wonderful. Check out Jupiter’s Pineapple: A Bittersweet Revenge review to learn why it belongs on your to-play list.
