X live Monster Hunter Now’s Carnival 2024 event wraps up in Shibuya, with global event still to come

  • Monster Hunter Now has just wrapped up its Carnival Shibuya event
  • Thousands of fans descended on Tokyo to battle event-exclusive monsters and make connections
  • But don’t worry if you missed it, because the Carnival is coming globally this November!

Niantic’s hit AR creature-battler Monster Hunter Now has just wrapped up its huge Carnival 2024 event in Shibuya. And yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like, with thousands of fans descending on Tokyo’s Shibuya district to hunt event-exclusive monsters and make new connections with fans.

But don’t worry if you missed it (I’m assuming you didn’t go to Japan solely for this, right?) because the Monster Hunter Now Global Carnival is set to arrive this November! Major rewards and new monsters to battle await, and you won’t even need to go beyond your own city for it! Taking place from November 2nd through to the 3rd, this is the most limited of limited-time events though, so be sure to check in!

And you’ll really want to because there’s a special quest to unlock Elder Dragon Interceptions. Nergigante, Silver Rathalos and Gold Rathian will make an appearance in the field, and that’s without even getting into event-exclusive weapons and armor you can grab! Check out the Monster Hunter Now blog post for even more details.

The hunt is on

The decision to expand an event like this worldwide, even for a relatively brief period is, I think, a great idea. It means that virtually everyone gets a chance to try it out and to get some of the rewards. Admittedly I think two days may be slightly too brief, but the fact it’s available is great either way.
