- Haegin’s HomeRun Clash 2 is set to debut a brand new character
- Bobby Jackson is a basketball player turned baseball pro
- His unique ability prevents your combo count from breaking
Haegin is no stranger to unusual additions to their games, what with the often extravagant additions to their games like Play Together. But it’s today’s subject that’s perhaps the most striking so far. HomeRun Clash 2, their arcade baseball sim, is set to debut a new character with a basketball player(?!)
Yes, Bobby Jackson is arriving. A basketball player turned baseball pro, despite the unusual circumstances of his arrival, his ability to keep your combo unbroken with Slam Dunk is certainly a striking addition. You’ll be able to enjoy extended combos and additional points to your combo score when you play as Bobby.
Meanwhile, if you’ve bounced off of HomeRun Clash 2, it may be worth giving it a second look. Haegin has done a massive pass on a variety of mechanics to tinker with the overall feel of the game. Batter Effect skills, Defense skills, and debuff effects have all had adjustments that the developer seems sure will please players.
Shoot some hoops
I admit, I do like Haegin’s approach to HomeRun Clash 2, because if you’re going to do an arcade-style game you may as well go all-in on having interesting new additions, rather than simply try to emulate well-known baseball players. The ability to keep combos going is, from my experience, always welcome when it comes to hitting high scores, so I wouldn’t be surprised if Bobby Jackson really does become a fan-favourite as Haegin hopes.
Still, even if you’re not willing to have a second pass at HomeRun Clash 2, don’t feel down. There are plenty of other great games out there, so why not take a chance on the roguelike indie darling card game Balatro? Our review of Balatro is now live, so go read it and find out why we’ve given it a rare Platinum score.
