Fans of Bloons, the tower defence series, are used to monkeying around. I mean, given you quite literally command a team of monkeys that’s pretty much a given. But there’s no time for that with Bloons Card Storm! And that’s because you’ll finally get the chance to pit your tower defence skills against other players in PvP battles as Bloons Card Storm releases today.
Sounds fun, right? Well, how does it work? Essentially in Card Storm rather than just defending against an oncoming horde of Bloons with your favoured monkeys, you also use a variety of cards to send them your opponent’s way too. The challenge is to keep your hero monkey safe while aiming to wipe out the other players.
Starting off with four distinct heroes, 130+ cards and five different arenas to duke it out in, Bloons Card Storm is likely to grow even more advanced with cross-platform and private match support letting you duke it out with your friends no matter where they play.
Ape out
Bloons Card Storm seems, to me, to be a natural progression for the series. After all, I’ve seen some absolutely devious masteries of the regular Bloons series, and the absolutely ridiculous nature of some of the difficulty settings shows that there are plenty of fans who really want to put their skills to the test. What better way to do so then, than by pitting Bloons fanatics against one another?
Admittedly this has technically been done before, with previous entries like Bloons TD Battles. But Bloons Card Storm adds the extra element of deckbuilding, as well as being on a wider number of platforms than the aforementioned Apple Arcade-exclusive TD Battles.
