- Black Desert Online for mobile is getting a new Autumn Rich season
- It’s accompanied by a revamped main story quest
- Pearl Abyss looks set to give their mobile port a shot in the arm
Covering Black Desert Mobile is always difficult because it seems to slip in and out of relevance, especially compared to its hit mainline cousin. But it seems that Pearl Abyss has realised this, and the upcoming Autumn Season promises not just a reward-rich event, but also a shot in the arm for Black Desert Online with a revamped main storyline!
The new look main quest will take you across the BDO world to Balenos, Serendia and Calpheon. Centring around Serendian guide Jordine, you’ll be able to experience new fully-voiced cutscenes, illustrations and redesigned quests. Gone are long, grindy quest chains, with character interaction and storylines placed front and centre.
It’s not just less tangible changes that are coming either. The Autumn Season is set to offer great rewards. Starting today and running until December 17th, you’ll be able to create a seasonal character that progresses five times faster than before.
Time for dessert
I think a lot of people, even casual observers like myself, will be glad to see that Black Desert Mobile is getting a revamp. It means that Pearl Abyss has noted that the mobile version seems to be lagging behind a bit and is taking steps to redress it. I’m particularly pleased about the decision to cut down on grindy quests, as in my – in fairness, rather limited – experience with MMORPGs the grind-fest that some questlines become has often been my main sticking point.
