X live Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete will release later this year, allowing you to take your adventures offline

  • Animal Crossing Pocket Camp is set to shutter this year
  • However, as previously announced, an offline version is being made available
  • Containing most of the in-game content included thus far, this is a way for players to keep going, albeit offline

Back in August, we reported on the unfortunate announcement that Animal Crossing Pocket Camp, the mobile version of the famous cosy life simulator, would be shuttering. However, we also noted that an offline version was going to be made available so that players could keep their progress, and offer a way for others to experience Pocket Camp.

Well, you’ll be glad to know that wasn’t just hot air! In fact, we can report that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will be available on December 3rd this very year! Allowing you to transfer over your existing save and continue playing, Pocket Camp Complete also promises new features compared to the original.

For one, there are no longer any in-app purchases or a constant online connection required. And despite being offline, you aren’t isolated, as you can still meet up with other players in the new Whisper Pass location and trade the brand new Camper Cards with each other. That’s not even getting started on the return of monthly and seasonal events to keep the game fresh.

Crossing over

I admit I’m pleasantly surprised by the breadth of content being included in Animal Crossing Pocket Camp Complete. At an introductory price of $9.99 for iOS and Android, it’s clear that this is going to be the definitive version of the game. Still, I do think it’s a shame they didn’t rework aspects like Leaf Tokens or crafting times, especially since a lack of in-app purchases doesn’t give these aspects much of a purpose. Either way, however, if you’re a dedicated Pocket Campfan this is sure to be great news.

If you want to metaphorically stretch your legs, however, and find new great games to play, why not check out our list of the top 8 mobile games like Stardew Valley for even more cosy camping?
